Location: Aden-Yemen, with frequent visit to the field in another Governorates.
Reports to: Head of programme.

READ foundation is an International Non-profit organisation, registered in the UK in 1994, with the aim of contributing to educational development for affected populations. READ Foundation- Yemen (RFY) established its operations in Yemen in July 2020. Since its establishment, RFY has assisted the affected population with lifesaving interventions in different governorates.
Summary of role
The primary purpose of the Media & Communication Assistant role at READ Foundation Yemen is to effectively communicate the organization's mission, projects, and impact to diverse audiences through various media channels. This role plays a crucial part in advancing the organization's objectives by creating compelling content, managing media relations, and engaging with stakeholders.
Additionally, to supports efforts to enhance the organization's visibility, credibility and influence within the community and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing marketing and advocacy productions (in collaboration with Communication and Marketing Officer in RF UK) which will be used for managing and utilizing by RFY marketing channels (website, Facebook ad, Google Adwords, etc) to promote and/or disseminate projects’ profile and activities, knowledge products, events, resource mobilization, recruitment, etc.
- Assisting in developing communication plans for events and new projects
- Ensuring RFY’s branding clarity and consistency
- Developing, writing/copyediting and/or sourcing of content for RFY’s The Source (online knowledge hub) to be used as contents for RFY’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube)
- Writing/copyediting press releases, news articles and content marketing for RFY’s newsletter and website as well as external media/news outlet
- Developing designs for RFY’s Annual Report and other corporate communication documents/collaterals
- Creating visual products based on text-based knowledge products and other strategic evidence (i.e., static/kinetic infographic, PSA video, vox pop video, etc)
- Working with translators to translate knowledge and communication products into a range of Arabic and English languages
- Designing visual documentation of projects’ activities and events
- Any other tasks assigned by head of programme.

Person Specification
Experience
- The essential qualifications and skills that are required, including the below:
- Bachelor degree of media and communication
- No less than 3 years’ experience in media, marketing and advocacy products development, and production , preferably with Humanitarian organizations.
- High skills of photography, videography, script writing, interviewing, video editing, post production
- Ability to travel to the field, RFY’s targeted communities
- Very good communication level in English and Arabic
- Strong digital and offline marketing skills
- Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Premiere is an asset
- Understanding of communications, public relations and marketing best practices
- Ability to think strategically and identify ways to improve communication efforts
